After a long search for the perfect addition, we acquired Darkwater Lake Outpost late in the 2019 season. We chose Darkwater mainly for the phenomenal walleye and northern pike fishing, but also for the recently built log cabin and beautiful setting nestled in the pine trees. Better yet, we are the only outpost on the lake.
Darkwater Lake, as the name implies, is a tea stained waterbody that flows as part of the Whitemud River system. Measuring approximately 6 miles long by 1 mile wide, with 30 miles of shoreline. Due to the shape of the lake and its many narrows and points, Darkwater is well protected from wind and never gets rough.
Average depths of 25' give consistent fishing with areas of 45' holding the larger trophy walleye. Fishing on Darkwater is incredible with fast action and a nice variety in sizes, from the perfect frying pan size to trophy, once in a lifetime fish. Want to boat 100’s of fish per day? Darkwater will not disappoint.
